「アンビバレンス＝相反する感情、心の揺れ」というコンセプトを掲げて制作を開始した初期作品から最新作までを掲載した『金巻芳俊作品集タメンタヒ』はFUMA Contemporary Tokyo/文京アートと私が二人三脚で歩んだ歴史の集積、成長の記録とも言えます。この作品集の出版は私にとって悲願でありました。あらゆる情報がデバイスの画面の中で消費されてゆく現代において、思考や時間がしっかりと紙に定着され、触れ心地も重さを感じる事も出来る、確かな“質量”を持った書籍の出版を切望していたのは、“質量”を刻む彫刻家ゆえの性であります。
はじめは手探りで刻み続けた「アンビバレンス」を表現した木彫作品も随分とシリーズが増え、多くの方に支持していただける作品群へと成長しました。
そこでこの度、作品集掲載の最新作「呼氣カプリス」をはじめadidas Originalsとのコラボでご好評いただいた「循環カプリス」や新作、旧作、エディション作品などを集め、共に歩んできたFUMA Contemporary Tokyo | 文京アートを会場として出版記念展を開催できる事は望外の喜びです。ぜひ作品集と共に、展示された木彫作品の“質量”も直接体感して頂けたら幸いです。

My book, "TAMENTAHI," which includes works from the early days of my woodcarving career, when I started working with the concept of "ambivalence," to my latest works, can be seen as a record of my growth and development with FUMA Contemporary Tokyo.
The publication collection of works has been a long-held dream of mine. In this age when all information is consumed on the screen of a device, I have longed for the publication of a book with "mass," where thoughts and time are firmly fixed on paper, and where one can feel the texture and weight of the paper. It is my nature as a sculptor to carve "mass" into wood. The wood carving works, which at first expressed "ambivalence" by groping, have now grown into a series of works that are supported by many people.
In this exhibition, we will be holding the FUMA Contemporary Tokyo, where we have been working together so far, including the latest sculpture "Breathing Caprice: A", "Circulation Caprice", which was well received in collaboration with adidas Originals, and new edition works. We hope you will experience the "mass" of the wood sculptures as well as the book.
