| 1964 | Won New Artist Prize at 38th edition of the National Exhibition and Grand Prix (a grant for study in Paris) at 3rd edition of National Young Artists Exhibition |
| 1965 | Moved to Paris and energetically exhibited works in galleries and museums in Europe |
| 1968 | Worked with Tetsumi Kudo on the May Revolution in Paris |
| 1977 | Left Paris and returned to Japan |
| 1996 | Hiraga’s work was included in the exhibition Japanese Ways, Western Means, Art of the 1980s in Japan in the Queensland Art Gallery in Australia |
| 2000 | Moved to Hakone-Yumoto, where he died on 13 November at the age of 64 |
| 2000 | Exhibition of Hiraga’s work with catalogue at Hiratsuka Museum of Art, Kanagawa and Bokushin Gallery, Tokyo |
